Happiness is Everywhere

Happiness is everywhere. Every now and then I come across an idea that fits perfectly with the thought, mood, and direction I’m happy to face.

Happy to face? Yes, in a full-spectrum sense of happiness. What’s full-spectrum happiness? It sure isn’t being happy all the time.

What? Isn’t that contradictory? Not at all. Happiness isn’t just a moment in the middle of your life, it is everything, and all directions.

Being Happy In The Moment

Happiness is everythingSometimes it takes a moment of allowing yourself to stand right where you are. In that quiet moment you can allow yourself to notice whether or not you are aligned with having and being who you are.

I did that for myself, just moments ago. I turned my focus on something that I’ve wanted to do, or better yet complete, and realized every part of my dream was out in the future. Carrot, stick, dangling in front of the horse.

My dream, and a chunk of my happiness, was all around me. Was it right here, now, today? No. Is it in reach? If it’s mine, my own creation, and I’m able to imagine or “vision” it, then it seems reasonable that I can put my happiness where ever I want. I just wasn’t feeling it right now. Do I want to feel it right now? Yes!

Wow, what a great revelation! Without getting into the gritty feelings that lead up to this revelation, I let myself look at it in a more comical way. To me it looked as though I was in a bubble, and that bubble kept me safe yet separate from what I wanted in my life. Bummer.

Isn’t that a far-cry from happiness? No, it’s just the beginning of a new and renewable sense of happiness.

Happiness – Within reach?

Of course there were reasons why I had created that bubble, and certainly memories that I could label as the cause. Yes, I had good reasons for keeping this part of my happiness dangling just out of reach. Then I realized that I could spend all my time cataloging my injuries, gaining nothing but a book full of “why not’s” aka “why knots”. Does that sound like fun? Sometimes yes, and sometimes it’s fun to play in the mud. But, for general purposes, my time was better spent shifting from insight to “by-right”.

What’s “by-right”? It’s a term used in a lease that says, “I have the right to make changes within the area I lease, if those changes fit within the terms of this agreement, without asking you if it’s okay every time I want to change something”. In life terms, this idea can be re-phrased to state that you have the right, the free will, to live your life without being bound by the grips of memories and thoughts that do not serve you.

Happiness – by right.

What about you? Is there something you want in life, can you feel it even if the words are not there to describe it? If it’s not fully integrated in your day-to-day life, do you feel there is a reason why it’s not? Would you like a chance to change things, by right of your free will to live your life to the fullest?

There you have it – happiness isn’t always feeling happy. To me, sometimes it’s finding and rekindling my love of yet another part of my own soul-essence. That step always leads me to greater happiness, right here and now.

It’s a moment of just standing still, marveling at the beauty of my own soul-creative self.

How do you see that part of you? Close your eyes, and look around with the kind of vision that is influenced by your own thoughts and desires. Tune it like a radio to your own happiness, whether you feel it or not. Step out of the bubble and jump on in with a gigantic splash. How do you get more happiness into this moment? By splashing around in your own happiness.

Happiness isn’t just a moment in the middle of your life, it is everything, and all directions.

Memories are made, and memories are remembered. But happiness is everywhere, and everything, and anytime.
