Is Spirituality Contagious?
I see that look on your face. Can I really be serious about the title of this posting, “Is Spirituality Contagious”? I think you and I can view this in the same light, as most anything else, and finish the day by saying, “it all depends on your perspective”.
We are individuals, yet how often are we free thinkers? There is no denying that we are influenced by those around us. You can see the influence of others on your life as a negative thing at times, but even some challenging moments can be positive for your awareness and growth. The key is to pay attention, noticing when influences are a distraction.
When you’re in the middle of an interaction you’re usually engaged in what is going on, and that’s good, that’s living in the moment. At the same time you can have your awareness, a part of you that is the observer of everything going on. Sometimes this observer part of you reacts when there is mixed messages, even to the point where you have a gut level emotional response.
Heeding Your Own Warning Signals
What happens when you feel that someone is taking you away from what is important to you, or pulling you away from your own truth? You can’t always walk away, and you don’t have to, unless you feel a threat to you, physically or otherwise.
Let’s clarify something at this point, using you instincts, gut level feelings, even your intuition is not just about danger. Being aware is also for those happy, serendipitous moments.
There are times you interact with others when you feel a kinship or connectivity. Words don’t always have to be spoken, but when you suddenly here someone else start talking about something that you were just thinking about, now that’s crazy amazing!
What about when the phone rings, and it’s the person you just thought of, out of the blue?
Being a very practiced intuitive, I often bring that skill into every part of my day. Yes, when I am engaged in a counseling and healing session I do shift full attention to the metavisionary perspective. But I also use my intuitive, gut level, and awareness abilities in everything from my personal entertainment to the other end of the spectrum with making a corporate decision. Wisdom comes from both our knowledge and our knowing, and those are two very separate things.
What I love is watching those around me start to “tune in” to their own abilities when I talk about my insights. This is where spirituality is truly contagious, when new perspectives open that the mind could never imagine.
It’s Magnetic, that Divine Spark
Call it a divine intervention or magnetic influence, you do consciously and unconsciously draw to you people and things that support what you believe in. Wow, it might be prudent to give a little more consideration to what we think!
As far as what we gain from all our interactions and exchanges through the day, you can question the chain of events. “Did that person influence me with a new concept, or did I attract them to me so I could see something I’ve been asking to see?” Sometimes people appear in your life to act as a mirror for seeing yourself. We do influence each other, and we also share our own personal twist in our life perspectives. Though we don’t see the web of connectivity you and I have, we do at times feel it.
Spirituality, consciousness, and awareness are very contagious, and I believe you and I are both happy to have it this way.
