Self Love Tips – Self Appreciation
Those are amazing words: “Self Appreciation”. When you take the monetary perspective appreciation means that it is something that increases over time, appreciating or growing. That is who you are, you are works of art in progress.
Minding Our Own Business
Our products, or our outcomes, are the by-product of our actions. Our actions are not our “being“, they are something we do. Our creations, the things we do, are the first stage of translating our essence, or “being” into the physical world. There is no way possible that our doing could be bigger than our being because our being is the source of doing, and doing is always something that comes from being.
What goes out into the world is far removed from who we are, our source of being, yet it is the focus of our attention. Where is your attention for the bulk of your day? Is it on your work, what needs to be done, the people you have to serve? What do you do when you come home? Do you turn on the TV, or delve into a good book? How much of your time and attention goes into appreciating who you are, even just something as simple as the fact that you are living?
Everything comes at a cost. While many do not wish to see life in this way it is true, but it does not have to be seen through the shaded perspective of good or bad. We give our time, we receive recognition, we act, we speak and listen. Everything in life is an exchange. Paying attention: is this a way we spend our conscious time and energy? Yes, it takes some of our awareness bandwidth to pay attention, but look at the gain.
Living in a World of Self Appreciation
When we pay attention we can gain so many insights into the less-often seen exchanges in our life and decide what we want and what we choose to walk away from. This is one of the keys to self appreciation, accepting those things that support and nourish us throughout our lives.
