Change Your Life By Changing The Little Things

Why do people resist taking the steps to change their lives? If we look at the steps we have already taken to pay attention to how we feel, decide that we want a better life, and dream of that better life, then we’ve already achieved a lot.

The problem with changing our lives doesn’t lie in our wants, but in our needs. We need to breath, but we don’t need stale, polluted air. What is the solution? To stop breathing altogether? No, our body will resist that change, that’s for sure. Why? Our body has a built-in preservation system. If we want to change your life you need to take that system into account and make changes that satisfy both what you want and what you need.

Changing your life is easier when we change the little things. Here’s a few ideas on how you can create the change you want without rocking an already shaky boat:

Change Your Life One Moment at a Time

The first step to changing your life is to learn new ways for having fun. Changing our life doesn’t have to be hard, nor does it have to be “work”, but we make it seem that way. Let’s face it, we want instant gratification.  Look at goals, they are so often about the future, including the rewards. Set up a new reward system that gives you something fun right now and you’ll quickly shift from resisting change to inviting healthier choices.

One of the most amazing human abilities is to look past our problems and live with our head above the clouds. When things are going right then this technique works, but it has its limits. We must also give enough attention to what is happening in the background, behind the scenes, under the radar. Listen to your body and you will learn a lot about your inner and outer worlds and how well things are meshing.

Your body gives you great information about your surroundings and how it is affecting you. Listen to those subtle signals and follow the chain of thought, and you’ll find a pathway to freeing yourself of the patterns you’ve learned through life. Many times we change just by giving a little conscious attention to what is happening now instead of later. A little love goes a long way!

Change Your Life By Changing The Little Things

We have to get down to the cellular level. How do we do that? It’s actually very simple. Every one of our trillions of cells are alive, and each is self contained. This means that our cells are able to produce and store energy. Feed the cells and the cells will function better than they will when they are stressed and undernourished.

What do undernourished cells give us? Lack of energy, sluggish response, emotional lows, disconnects, foggy thinking, and other signs that we don’t have what we need, even for our basic functions. Why would our body, mind, or emotions support change when it doesn’t have enough to manage it’s current state of being?

It’s said that our body knows how to heal itself, we just have to give it what it needs to get the job done. The same principle applies in business and relationships. We cannot create the change we want if we don’t have the basics.

One Breath at a Time – Ready?

Take a deep breath, and relax. Making a life-changing move doesn’t have to be a major feat, nor does it have to be difficult. Today we’ve uncovered just a few of the simple, easy ways anyone can change their life. The secret is to recognize and appreciate both what you can and what you already do to make your world a better place.
