Inspiring The Energy Of Self Respect

If you want to be respected by others the great thing is to respect yourself. Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you.

Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Insulted and the Injured (1861)

The Energy of Self Respect

How does your own self respect affect how others see and treat you? All things are energy, consciously perceived or not. Your own level of self respect creates an energy vortex that is self validating. That inner energy vortex made up of your own self respect is reflective of an alliance between thought and action.

When does your self respect shine through?  It comes to light in the little things you do, those unconscious choices you make. For others to respect you, they state that they agree with you, based upon knowing what they know about you.

Whether its an attitude or a belief, it is changeable. It’s amazing how easy it is to adopt an idea as “the way things are”, only to find later that what you thought was real was not the case at all.

Steps to inspiring self respect

  • Give an honest rating to your self respect. Do you feel accomplished? Keep in mind, this is not an appraisal of your performance, it’s a gauge about how you feel.
  • Imagine looking in the mirror when you ask yourself about your self respect. Notice any emotion that comes up. Say hello to that emotion, tell it “it’s okay, I accept you”, even if it’s fear. It’s only a layer of energy, not “who you are”.
  • Blocks to boosting your self respect can be as simple remnants of energy from the past. Use energy tools, like EFT, to release those blocks. Remember those blocks are rarely in the present moment, and they are magnets that attract whatever resonates. Release or resolve so more of your energy can be here in the present, able to support your self respect.
